On January 23rd we lost our dear friend Peter (Muir) Findlay who served alongside my Father in “S” Squadron, 3rd Tank Battalion, Scots Guards. We first met Muir in 2014 when he kept us captivated about his wartime experiences which of course my own Father would have experienced too. We had the pleasure of meeting him again, the last time when he kindly gave me a copy of the book “La Percee du Bocage” for which he had written the preface and also contained photos of my Father.

Muir, 95, had been suffering from Cancer for the last year.

His funeral on 22nd February was well attended by friends, relatives, a former Scots Guards Piper and also a Standard bearer from the Scots Guards Association (Bucks, Berks & Oxon Branch)
